Pennsylvania Farmer
By K.J. (Reimensyder)
Wagner, 2004
I’m a Pennsylvania farmer,
wake up early in the morn
Get to celebrate the magic
with each calf that’s being born
I hear folks on the T.V.
saying life is such a chore
But we’re living on, we’re
giving on
I feel the rain on my
shoulders as I get the crops all in
Picking fruits and pulling
vegetables to fill your grocer’s bins
There’s not a better
feeling than breathing with the wind
I’m living on, I’m giving
on
CHORUS:
I’m a Pennsylvania
farmer near a Pennsylvania town
Tilling life and love
throughout the ground
I’m a Pennsylvania
farmer in a world that’s spinning ‘round
I’m living on; I’m
giving on
My neighbor’s Christmas
tree farm looks precious in the snow
Each tree marked with a
ribbon as he lets his babies go
He’s proud of what he’s
growing’, even prouder when it goes
He’s living on, he’s
giving on
CHORUS: He’s a
Pennsylvania farmer…. he’s living on, he’s giving on
My cousin’s raising
poultry, one has sheep, the other swine
And my granddad’s raising
mushrooms and on the hill the vineyard’s fine
And the beef cows and the
dairy farms continue in the line
They’re living on; they’re
giving on.
CHORUS:
We are Pennsylvania
farmers
Tilling life and love
throughout the ground
We are
Pennsylvania farmers in a world that’s spinning ‘round
We’re living on, we’re
giving on
Yes, we’re living on,
we’re giving on.
